Signal is considered the most secure messaging app out there. Here are a few tips that will help improve your Signal experience.

Protect your app even with an unlocked phone using this feature. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Toggle Screen Lock on.

SET UP A SCREEN LOCK


Stop the spam of notifications when your contacts join. To do this, go to Settings > Notifications > Toggle Contact Joined Signal off.

REMOVE 'JOINED' UPDATES

Blur faces in photos automatically for max privacy. Tap on a picture to send > Tap on the Blur button in the top bar > Toggle Blur faces

BLUR FACES ON PHOTOS

Want to send a message that is only available for 1 minute? Easy. To do this, tap on the contact's name > Toggle Disappearing Messages > Slide the timer.

DISAPPEARING MESSAGES

You can also send messages that don't have a time limit, but can be seen exactly once. To do this, Tap the + sign > Tap on a picture to send > Tap on the Infinity icon

SINGLE VIEW MESSAGES

Get notifications with only the name of the sender for additional security. Go to Settings > Notifications > Notification Content to choose.

DON'T SHOW DETAILS

There's a contact in Signal called Note to Self. Just open that chat and you can save your notes, links, or photos there.
