The first Pokémon games on the Gameboy, titled Red and Blue in the West, started the franchise on an incredibly high note.

Pokémon Gold, Silver & Crystal

Game Freak never thought Pokémon would continue past these second generation of games, and therefore, put a lot of thought and creativity into this generation.

Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald

The third generation of Pokémon will have you explore the region of Hoenn. Made for the new Gameboy Advance system, they were graphically superior.


Made for the Nintendo DS, they completely modernised the mechanics of the game. These changes brought the franchise into a new era and also introduced us to the Sinnoh region.

Pokémon Black & White

The Unovo region consisted of one of the most mature themes and story lines ever created in a Pokémon Game. This generation of Pokémon was the last for the Nintendo DS.

Pokémon X & Y

Pokémon in full 3D was finally a reality in the sixth generation as players were taken to Kalos to experience a brand new adventure.
The Alolan region brought forth new Pokémon forms and changed the formula up from gyms to island challenges.

Pokémon Sun & Moon

The first Pokémon generation made for the Nintendo Switch has received some amount of criticism for being a little stale and gimmicky.
