TomTom has launched four new GPS sport watches in India starting at Rs. 12,999. The new TomTom sport watches for men and women are now available exclusively on Flipkart.

The four new GPS sport watches are TomTom Runner Digital (Rs. 12,999), Multi-Sport (Rs. 15,499), Runner Cardio (Rs. 20,999), and Multi-Sport Cardio (Rs. 23,499).

TomTom, a company popular for its navigation devices, claims that the new Runner and Multi-Sport GPS watches deliver real-time details about time, distance, heart rate, pace, speed and calories burnt to runners, cyclists and swimmers.

The TomTom Runner Cardio packs a built-in heart rate monitor for tracking runners' heart rate.

"An extra-large display, full-screen graphical training tools and the industry's first one-button control make it easy for fitness enthusiasts to access real-time information to help them achieve their goals," the company said in a statement.

The new TomTom GPS sport watches are compatible with other fitness platforms such as MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, TrainingPeaks, Strava, and TomTom MySports website as well.

The new watches feature TomTom's Graphical Training Partner that offers full-screen graphics and are set in three modes - Race, which offers details about personal best or most recent run; Goal, for users to set a distance, time or calorie goal, and Zone, which allows users to set a target for pace or heart-rate (with optional heart-rate monitor) and track progress.

TomTom adds that the watches feature scratch resistant displays and are water-resistant (waterproof up to 165 feet).

The company claims that the TomTom Runner Digital and Multi-Sport watches can offer up to 10 hours of battery life in GPS mode, while Runner Cardio and Multi-Sport Cardio watches can offer up to 8 hours of battery life in GPS and Heart Rate mode.

Commenting on the launch, Andrew Cooper, SVP Sales APAC, TomTom, said, "Our research shows that 95 percent of runners consider their GPS watch to be their perfect training partner. However, we see a gap between the number of runners and the penetration of GPS sport watches primarily due to lack of understanding on the benefits of running with a GPS watch. By launching fitness products with industry leading innovations, we expect this segment to grow at a rapid pace globally, and in India."

Kavita Nath, Country Manager, TomTom India said on the launch, "Running is an important part of the changing life-style of the young, upwardly mobile Indian. Our research suggests that access to real time information during a run is one of the easiest ways for a runner to improve their performance, making the GPS watch an essential part of any runner's kit."
