State-run telecom major BSNL today announced a number of promotional schemes for its customers, including unlimited calls for its CDMA users on any network, for this month to mark its 12th anniversary celebration.

"BSNL was created on October 1, 2000. On the eve of BSNL day, we are announcing host of schemes to share our celebration with our customers," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director R K Updhyay told reporters here.

BSNL announced eight schemes for its users, including unlimited local and STD calls for CDMA customers.

"BSNL is offering unlimited local calls to any network at Rs. 650 and unlimited STD calls to any network at Rs. 850. These are promotional offers for this month only," Upadhyay said.

The state-run company announced, for seven days, a limited period offer of 20 per cent extra benefit on top-up vouchers of Rs. 200, Rs. 500, Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 6,000 for its pre-paid GSM customers. BSNL slashed 3G data charges and cards by 20 per cent.

"We will offer 20 per cent special discount on sale price of 7.2 mbps data card during festival season, starting from today and reducing 3G data rates by 20 per cent on select tariff plans," Upadhyay said.

The company will provide 1250 MB (over 1 GB) 3G plan for Rs. 225 and 2500 MB (over 2 GB) 3G plan for Rs. 360. BSNL announced special scheme for youth, 'Yuva', under which it will offer 1,500 MB(over 1.4 GB) 3G plan at Rs. 120 and 7,000 MB data (over 6.8 GB) 3G plan for Rs. 599.

"This plan is meant exclusively for youth and students," Upadhyay said.

For the three-month period starting October 1, BSNL announced to provide free value added service namely games on demand, music on demand with every new broadband connection.

Customers buying BSNL broadband connection will not have to pay security deposit on broadband modems and broadband connection upfront. These charges will be deducted in three equal instalments instead of single payment at the time of registration.

"We are waiving off installation charges of Rs. 250 for broadband connection that will issued between October 1 to December 31, 2012," Updhyay said.

The company will provide 3G data card at Rs. 500 for its every broadband customers, old and new, for customers enrolling for annual subscription charges and Rs. 800 for customers paying on monthly basis.

BSNL also announced partnering with Teracom, Wishtel for Tablet PCs in the price range of Rs. 3,999 to Rs. 10,999. The state-run telecom company already has reverse bundling agreement with Pantel for Penta tablets.
