In a bid to appease naysayers, Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone brand, has created the Galaxy Alpha which has a compact body with metal edges and a 4.7-inch screen. We think the inclusion of metal by itself lends it a premium look that was clearly missing even in some of its flagship smartphones. The phone also performs as well as a flagship thanks to the inclusion of some high-end innards. Specs junkies might have liked a 1080p resolution screen instead of the Galaxy Alpha’s 720p one but we still thought it was a good screen. At the time of writing the review the price of the device was our only major concern. Read detailed Samsung Galaxy Alpha review
