The future of Apple has been a popular topic of discussion since the death of co-founder and maverick CEO Steve Jobs. Everyone has shared their thoughts on how they believe the company will fare, and almost everyone has stated in one form or the other that things will never be the same at Apple. The latest to share his thoughts on the subject is Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.

Ellison made an appearance on American news channel CBS News on Monday. In a short snippet of a segment of This Morning posted on cbsnews.com, the Oracle CEO hinted at a dark future for Apple without the inspiration behind Apple's iconic products. While the segment doesn't go into many details, Ellison is seen gesturing the rise and fall of Apple with Steve Jobs' presence and absence respectively.

"We saw - we conducted the experiment," Ellison explained. "I mean, it's been done. We saw Apple with Steve Jobs (moves hand in upwards motion). We saw Apple without Steve Jobs (moves hand in downwards motion). We saw Apple with Steve Jobs (moves hand in upwards motion). Now, we're gonna see Apple without Steve Jobs (moves hand in downwards motion)."

The Oracle co-founder had more praise for the late Steve Jobs, someone he was close friends with. "He was, he was brilliant," Ellison told CBS News, when asked about what was it about Jobs that enabled him to deliver all the great products that he did. "I mean, he was our Edison. He was our Picasso. He was an incredible inventor," Ellison added.
