In our weekly column Personally Tech we talk to people from all walks of life to learn about the apps and gadgets that they love and can't live without.

This week, we caught up with Ramesh Kaushik, General Manager - Marketing, Grohe India. Grohe is of course famous for the gadgets that it makes for your bathroom, but Kaushik himself is a tech enthusiast who has a mix of BlackBerry, Android and iOS devices in his bag. Here are the apps and gadgets that he can't live without.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Ramesh Kaushik
: I use a Lenovo T440 laptop at work. Otherwise, I use a Blackberry Classic for my mails, though for personal usage, I have recently switched to a Samsung Galaxy S6. I keep my iPad 2 handy when travelling within India or abroad.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Ramesh Kaushik
: I personally prefer apps that facilitate optimising my time; true multi-tasking apps especially on the move. I use WhatsApp a lot for both personal and group driven official communication. I also recently started to use News in Shorts as it gives concise yet updated news. Then I am addicted to music so I keep surfing music apps, especially Spotify, through a VPN.

What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Ramesh Kaushik
: My iPod Touch Fourth Generation and iPad 2. I need a constant dose of music hence the iPod, and I read a lot so rather than carrying bulky books, I prefer downloading a lot of books on my iPad. I also wear my Fitbit band, always.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Ramesh Kaushik
: It would be a dream smartwatch. The one that not only organises everything for me, but also acts as a large screen projector with audio video conference facility. And yes, it should be able to take me into a world of augmented reality!

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Ramesh Kaushik
: Technology has reduced delivery time and turnaround time from days to minutes now. Technology at work has truly brought geographies together and time to distance zones have gone very thin.

A generation ago we could not have imagined doing business the way we do now. However, I personally feel technology at work has crept into our personal space also and while it has brought professionals together, it seems as humans are being distant and there is a definite loss of the personal touch.
