Motorola smartphones used to be known for their good build quality, near-stock Android UI, quick updates, and good prices. In the recent past, though, we have seen slower software updates, while the prices of its smartphones have been steadily rising. For example, the Moto G6 Plus was launched recently at Rs. 22,499 which is higher than what other G series smartphones have been priced at in the past. The Moto G6 (Review) and the Moto G6 Play (Review) have weaker processors than their current competition, which makes them feel like they don’t offer as much value for money as previous Moto G models.

  • An Incredible phone at an awesome price
Manoj Warrier (Nov 21, 2018) on Gadgets 360 Recommends
The Motorola Android One phone is an exceptional piece of technology and innovation. A sturdy battery gives you ample power. The minimal apps make it sleeker and roomier (unless you add your favourite apps). The 16 MP + 5 MP dual rear camera captures awesome pictures and the resolution is like what you get from a DSLR camera. The 12 MP front camera gives selfies a great shot. In daylight or at night, the images are sharp and very crisp. But, don't worry; there is ample storage space for it. Even though it comes with a 5000 mAh battery, it does not feel bulky when you hold it. The response to your touch is very instant. Even the fingerprint reader is pretty quick (though many reviews here said there was a long lag. I did not find any lag). The turbo charger took about 25 mins for a full charge (the battery was charged to 55% when I opened the pack). The sound quality from the handset is very good and when you adjust the Dolby features, it gets better. When you use a headset, then the sound enhances further (always use a good quality headset). The FM radio captures and stores all available signals in a jiffy. The only drawback is that, it does not come with a headset. The display (6.25 inch or 15.7 cm) is stunning as it comes to close to 4k resolution (though it records in 4k resolution). The Max Vision feature gives you a 19:9 aspect ratio (unlike conventional displays), so you get to see more. The Notch (that area that holds the front camera, flash and ambient light sensor) at the top is a bit disturbing, but then it does not affect much of your viewing ability. The corning gorilla glass adds to its protection. However, there is already a thin filament on the glass, better not to remove it and let it stay and wear out on its own. That's added protection. It comes supplied with silicon kind protective back cover. The device comes with a few pre-loaded apps and they get updated when you connect to Wi-Fi. You have to install Whatsapp, paytm, Uber, Ola, Meru etc. It can be easily done through playstore. It has two slots for Nano Sim cards and both supports 4G, however it lets you chose only one slot for 4G (believe this will be addressed when there is an update), there is a slot for a MicroSD card for up to 256 GB. The AI powered innovations like Google Lens (Search what you see) and Google Assistant (Voice activated search) is of great help. The best thing for opting the Motorola Android One is the guaranteed updates to the Android OS and monthly security updates.

Its really combination of beauty with power. Android one and big battery is the strongest point here, along with moto turbo charger. What else one would want!

  • Good but handle it carefully.
Karthikeya Prabu (Sep 8, 2019) on Gadgets 360 Recommends
Ritika Dania told the actual. The mobile performance is very good. But the weight of the mobile is the biggest issue.I also replaced the screen two times.Bought this mobile for 10150.Paid another10000 for screen replacement(Two times). So please apply tempered glass immediately. The bumper case comes with the handset is good. Don't remove the case from the mobile Performance of the mobile is excellent.Motorola has to take care on this matter.
