Samsung Galaxy S6 to Be Showcased to Select Partners at CES 2015: Report
Samsung's much-anticipated flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, will be showcased at CES 2015 this week, but only to select partners and not consumers, claims a report.

Citing reliable sources, a report from Sammobile on Sunday claims that Samsung will showcase the anticipated flagship Galaxy S6 and a variant sometime during CES 2015 to select partners. Though there is no particular information about the Galaxy S6 variant, the report speculates it may be the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Reports have so far suggested various design aesthetics and specifications of the Samsung's next, which is also said to be codenamed as Project Zero - a name that is supposed to indicate the company has built the smartphone from scratch.

The latest report claiming credible information on the Galaxy S6 is by French website Nowhereelse, which has published few purported live images of the upcoming Galaxy S6's back casing.

The report claims that the images are of the metal-casing produced for the South Korean giant, but it's unclear whether they are meant for Galaxy S6 or its anticipated-variant. The alleged casing is seen to include two big cut-outs on both ends (see above), which may house a camera, loudspeaker and more. The edges appear to be similar to the metal-chassis on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Review | Pictures).

Earlier, the same French website had published images purported to be of an early version of the Galaxy S6's metal frame chassis, showcasing a charging port and more.

Last week, the anticipated Galaxy S6 was allegedly spotted in comparison images with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures). The anticipated smartphone was seen with a metal build and a working display featuring Android 5.0 Lollipop-styled lock screen. The rear panel also appeared to feature a metallic finish, though the leaked images were of low-resolution with slightly distorted colours.

A purported Galaxy S6 variant, codenamed SM-G920F, has also been spotted on its way to India for research, development and evaluation purposes, as per a listing on Indian import/ export site, Zauba, last month. The importer website had listed the handset's price as Rs. 18,938.

For specifications, the purported variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G925F) spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark site, noted the device will feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD (1440x2560 pixels) display; a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor; a Mali-T760 GPU; 3GB of RAM; a 20-megapixel rear camera; a 5-megapixel front camera; 32GB inbuilt storage, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
