Samsung Galaxy Note 8 With 6.3-Inch AMOLED Display Launched: Price, Specifications, Release Date, and More

That's all for today's event, we already have detailed coverage on our website.

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 begin in a few days in the US.

Denison just wrapped up the event. Now there's a video montage of people praising the Galaxy Note line of smartphones.

They ship with in-ear headphones from AKG and Denison just took a dig on the headphone jack that's missing on certain other devices. The Note 8 has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Note 8 will hit stores beginning on September 15.

He just took a dig at competition via wireless charging. Denison said it's been there in Samsung devices for years now while competitors are still trying to catch up.

It has fingerprint, iris scanner, and facial recognition. IP68 dust and water resistance.

The Note 8 has a microSD card slot. 64GB internal storage too.

Justin Denison is back on stage now.

You can connect DeX to the Note 8 and continue tasks on a monitor.

Samsung has been optimising apps and games such as Vain Glory for DeX.

On to Samsung DeX, the device that lets you turn your Galaxy device into a desktop computer.

Bixby now works with Spotify, the music streaming service.

By saying a phrase such as, Food photo, you can make Bixby open the camera, click the picture in food mode, save it to your food photo album. A phrase such as Good night can set phone to do not disturb mode, turn on the blue light filter on it and set alarms.

The Bixby button is still around. With one or two words you can launch multiple actions at once, Wong says.

Jonathon Wong, Director of product marketing at Samsung, is on stage now. He's going to talk about Bixby voice assistant and Samsung DeX.

You can translate entire sentences using the S Pen. Hover over a menu item and it translates the entire sentence. It also converts units of measurement and foreign currencies.

It makes a quick GIF that shows you drawing whatever you draw on the photo.

Note 8 has a feature called Live Message, which lets you draw on pictures to add some emotion to them.

S Pen has a finer tip and better pressure sensitivity. They're showing off Penup, the community of Galaxy Note artists. It has colouring books designed specifically for the S Pen.

In Live Focus, the phone clicks two pictures at the same time. That is called Dual Capture.

They just showed a live demo of this feature and showed that the background blur can be adjusted even after the picture is clicked.

Live Focus is a feature that lets you adjust the blur and focus of the background of a picture, before you click the picture.

The Note 8 has OIS in both cameras. Optical Image Stabilisation - basically it reduces shakes when you click pictures or shoot videos. Videos in particular look much better with OIS.

One is a wide angle lens and the second is a 2x telephoto lens.

Note 8's camera is twice as good as before. It has two back cameras.

It has a dual-pixel camera, with a quick launch feature to help you launch the camera fast.

Denison is bringing Suzanne De Silva to stage. She's Samsung's director of product strategy.

It comes in Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Maple Gold, and Deep Sea Blue colours.

This allows you to launch two apps at once and they show up on the top and bottom halves of the screen. It's a neat multitasking touch.

You can create a shortcut to launch two of your most used apps with a single tap on the edge panel.

It has an 18.5:9 display.

The Note 8 has the largest display on any Note device ever.

We're combining the power of the Infinity Display with the S Pen.

Samsung's created a creative stage which uses the floor as an extra display, giving it a 3D effect.

Justin Denison, Samsung's SVP of product strategy is now on stage.

Koh goes off stage, saying Let's meet Galaxy Note 8 in detail

A reveal video for Note 8 is playing now. The smartphone looks similar to the Galaxy S8, at least its display does.

Koh just thanked the people who've stood by Samsung in spite of the fire hazard that plagued the Galaxy Note 7, leading to its recall.

We're here to celebrate everyone who helped make the Galaxy Note such a success.

We knew this, but Koh just confirmed that the Galaxy Note is going to be the focus of this event.

Samsung's mobile communications business president DJ Koh is now on stage.

Loud cheers at the venue after that video.

Looks like they're thanking people for sticking by them even when the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco was at its peak.

This video shows the history of Samsung Galaxy Note series and how people have been using those smartphones.

Samsung is showing a promotional video, which means the launch event begins any second.
