Razer, a gaming peripherals manufacturer, on Tuesday announced a game controller accessory for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, called Razer Junglecat gamepad.

The Razer Junglecat gamepad is compatible with iOS 7 (or higher) and will be available in Black or White for $99.99 (approximately Rs. 5,900) from July.

The Junglecat features a slide-out gamepad with a standard four-way D-pad, two bumper buttons, AXBY action buttons (like on the Xbox), and a pause button in the middle. It uses the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s' Lightning port to connect. Overall, the Junglecat gamepad resembles the Sony's PSP Go and Sony Xperia Play slide-out smartphone.

Additionally the Razer Junglecat gamepad uses a downloadable iOS companion app that lets users remap and define its button functions, as well as adjust pressure sensitivity. It can store up to 20 preset profiles for easy switching.

The Junglecat gamepad measures at 150x65x18 mm. The list of games compatible with the controller includes Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2, Asphalt 8 Airbone and more. Users can find the complete list here.

The company notes that Razer Junglecat gamepad is "enabled for the latest features of Apple devices recently announced at WWDC." Combined with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, it will also act as a wireless controller for larger-screen Apple products.

"Game development is cascading into mobile with incredible production values and at a record pace, and the crossover of console gamers playing on their iOS and other mobile devices is growing in stride," said Min-Liang Tan, Razer Co-Founder, CEO and Creative Director. "The opportunity to design a sleek, high-performance gamepad controller for the iPhone was an exciting proposition that we can't wait to share with our community and the world."
