Japanese electronics giant Panasonic on Tuesday announced the launch of its latest P85 NXT smartphone in the Indian market. Taking forward the company's P series, the Panasonic P85 NXT also comes with the proprietary Arbo Hub which is an AI-powered digital hub of apps suited to the user's needs. Other key highlights of the Panasonic P85 NXT include a Snapdragon 210 SoC, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and LED flash on both the front and back of the smartphone. This is one of the rare Panasonic smartphones to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon lineup of mobile processors.
Panasonic P85 NXT price in India is set at Rs. 6,999 for the lone 2GB RAM/ 16GB inbuilt storage model. The phone will be sold in India via offline channels. Panasonic has tied up with UDAAN, a network centric B2B trade platform, for the sale of the P85 NXT in India. Colour options include Black, Champagne Gold, and Dark Blue.
The dual-SIM Panasonic P85 NXT runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box, and sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 1 protection. The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
In the camera department, the Panasonic P85 NXT sports a single 8-megapixel rear camera sensor with autofocus and LED flash. On the front, the smartphone bears a 5-megapixel fixed-focus sensor for selfies and video calling. There is an LED flash on the front as well. It comes with a 4,000mAh battery under the hood, with no mention of any sort of fast charging support.
Connectivity on the Panasonic P85 NXT comprises of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a Micro-USB port with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, fingerprint sensor, and proximity sensor. Face unlock support is also provided. Dimensions of the handset are 141.7x70.8x9.3mm and its weight is 173.8 grams.
