Microsoft has announced that the first devices to run on the all-new Windows Phone 8 will be manufactured by Nokia, HTC, Samsung and Huawei. However, company has not given any specific details about the availability of these devices.

The software giant has also revealed that these smartphones will be powered by a Qualcomm processor, probably dual-core.

HTC and Huawei were the first companies to confirm that they are indeed working on Windows phone 8 devices. Huawei is building 'Ascend' as their first phone on Windows Phone 8 and will release it before the end of 2012 in U.S., Europe, and China. On the other hand, HTC, Samsung and Nokia haven't divulged the specific device plans.

Microsoft had previewed the Windows Phone 8 software yesterday and stated that the existing Windows Phone device owners will not be getting the WP8, but the company has planned a WP 7.8 update for them, which will include a new Start screen and some other goodies.
