Lenovo is rumoured to bring back the 'Play' model in its Moto lineup next year, with the company's Moto G6 Play. Prolific tipster Evan Blass has claimed that the Play variant will return to Moto G series next year.

The Moto G6 Play is expected to be revealed alongside the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus. Lenovo somehow gave the Play variant a miss for the fifth-generation Moto G range which included Moto G5, Moto G5S, Moto G5 Plus, and Moto G5S Plus. Motorola brand's idea of introducing 'Play' variant was to offer a new smartphone with some additional features.

To recall, the Moto G4 Play was the last of its kind and was launched in September last year. The Moto G4 Play was seen as a toned down version of Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.

There are no details of the new Moto G smartphones on the Internet currently but we can expect to hear more in coming months. It is also widely expected that the company may reveal the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus ahead of the Moto G6 Play launch, which has been a pattern for other Play variants. For those unaware, the first ever Moto G Play was launched as a Google Play Edition device back in 2014 though it didn't see too many takers.

Last year, the Moto G4 Play budget smartphone was launched at Rs. 8,999 in India. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus were launched at Rs. 12,499 and Rs. 13,499 respectively.
