Microsoft, which had announced a bi-monthly update cycle for Cortana, on Monday has reportedly updated the skill set of its voice-based virtual assistant, giving it the ability to look up full song lyrics and provide eating place suggestions.

According to multiple reports, Cortana the voice-based virtual assistant can now provide full song lyrics on request and is powered by LyricFind. As first reported by Nokiapoweruser, the feature had existed before, but it would only deliver a few lines of the song.

Like several other features, Cortana's full song lyrics feature is reportedly limited to US only for now. The other Cortana feature, the eating place suggestions, was previously available in US, but now according to a Wmpoweruser report, has started being rolled out to the international version to the UK and other regions. The feature essentially throws suggestions for eating places during meal times with cuisine options, and allows users to set the price range and travel distance as well.

In August, along with the Windows Phone 8.1 update preview for developers, Microsoft had also expanded the availability of Cortana to countries including India, China, Canada, Australia and the UK. While the voice-based virtual assistant is available in China and the UK as a 'beta' version, in India, Canada, and Australia it is available as an 'alpha' version.

Originally introduced at the company's Build conference in April, Cortana was first available in the US as a 'beta'.

For those unaware, the name Cortana was taken from a popular AI character in Microsoft's blockbuster video game franchise, Halo.
