Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures is all set to launch its dated handset Yureka in a new avatar. After confirming in a tweet earlier this month, Yu on Friday sent out media invites to launch Yu Yureka in what appeared to be a Black colour at an event scheduled to be held on Thursday, June 1, next week . We reached out to the company, and were informed it's a brand new model and not just a new colour variant, and that it will be called the Yureka Black.
The media invite contains an image outline of Yu Yureka in Black colour with a tagline "Yureka is Back with Black". It further adds "Break rules. Shatter stereotypes." The related hashtag for the launch of Yu Yureka Black colour variant is #BlackAintForAll. Apart from that, there are no details about the pricing and availability as of now.
Yu Yureka, which was launched in 2014, is going to see a resurrection along with the lines of the latest trend of introducing Black colour variants. It can also be safely assumed that the specifications and design of the new Yu Yureka will see an overhaul, as compared to the original, now dated, variant.
The new colour variant launch comes after the reports of Micromax planning to shut down Yu Televentures started doing rounds. Till date, Yu has launched nine smartphones in two years, and its last two smartphones Yureka S and Yunique Plus were launched in August 2016. According to a recent report by TeleAnalysis, Micromax was said to be shutting down Yu Televentures because it "failed to find any differentiating value for Yu Mobiles."
