Meizu Unveils Flyme OS 6 With AI Engine, Colourful New Interface

  • Flyme OS 6 is set to arrive on a list of old Meizu smartphones as well

Alongside the Meizu M3X and Meizu Pro 6 Plus smartphones, the company even launched the 6th major iteration of the Flyme OS at an event in China. It comes with a new UI design and a few under the hood changes that can 'for now' be experienced on the above mentioned smartphones only.

Furthermore, Meizu claims that Flyme OS 6 is powered by the company's own artificial intelligence engine called One Mind. Apart from the M3X and Pro 6 Plus, Flyme OS 6 is also expected to come on a slew of previously released smartphones as well. Meizu has tweeted the full list of compatible smartphones, and it includes the Meizu Pro 6, Meizu Pro 5, Meizu MX6, Meizu MX5, Meizu MX4 Pro, Meizu MX4, Meizu M3 Max, Meizu M3 Note, Meizu M3E, Meizu M3s, Meizu m2 Note, Meizu M2, Meizu m1 Note, Meizu U20, and Meizu U10 smartphones.

In order to receive the update right away, the compatible smartphone users' can also alternatively sign up for an open beta program and experience Flyme OS 6 in beta mode. A total of 6,000 users will only be selected from a pool of registered users. They will be given the chance to experience the beta version of Flyme OS 6 with the new colourful visual design, before it is released to all users commercially. Users can register for the open beta program till December 10 here. There is no word on when the commercial rollout is bound to happen.

The Meizu M3X and Meizu Pro 6 Plus are priced starting at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 16,900) and CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 29,900) respectively, and will go on sale on December 8 and December 23 respectively.
