Lenovo K900 India launch has been pushed back to later this month, likely to May 20, NDTV Gadgets has learnt from its sources. We had earlier reported that the phablet was set to launch in India on May 10, but there have been fresh developments since.

While the reasons for the delay aren't clear, a source told NDTV Gadgets it is likely due to the fact that company is still finalising plans for the big marketing initiative it has planned for the device. Lenovo is said to be betting on the K900 to make a big push in the India market. The dealer network and channel partners are ready for the launch, as they have been for a while, the source added.

Meanwhile, the Lenovo K900 has gone on sale in China at a price (Yuan 3,299 or Rs. 29,000 approximately) that is likely to test our earlier report of a sub-Rs. 25,000 price point in India. However, our source still insists that the phablet will still be on the right side of the Rs. 25,000 price tag as far as consumers are concerned.

Lenovo K900 was first showcased at CES earlier this year. The K900 packs in Intel's dual-core Clover Trail+ platform, specifically the Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor clocking in at 2GHz. The device features a full-HD display, 2GB RAM and is expected to come with 16GB of internal storage.

The phablet comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with a new Sony Exmor BSI sensor and a 2-megapixel front camera. It is expected to ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
