HTC Desire 820s With 4G LTE and Octa-Core SoC Launched at Rs. 25,500
HTC on Thursday launched the Desire 820s in India at Rs. 25,500 (MOP Rs. 24,890). The smartphone was first announced in November, and was tipped to launch in India at Rs. 24,990 by an established Mumbai-based retailer on Wednesday.

The HTC Dot View case will also be available for the HTC Desire 820s, but there is no pricing detailed by HTC.

The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Desire 820s features 4G support for FDD bands (1/ 3/ 7/ 8) and TDD bands (38/ 39/ 40/ 41) in India. Other than that the Desire 820s packs almost identical specifications to the Desire 820 - apart from sporting a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 4G LTE connectivity and Mali T760 GPU instead of the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) of the original. The octa-core MediaTek SoC is coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The HTC Desire 820s packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel secondary front-facing camera, just like the Desire 820. The 16GB internal storage on the Desire 820s is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE.

"Our customers are gradually looking for bigger screens, faster processors, network speeds and outstanding battery life. They are creating and consuming rich video content and want greater freedom to personalise their smartphones. We know they love the flexibility that comes with expandable memory," said Faisal Siddiqui, President, South Asia, HTC.
