Huawei sub-brand Honor first announced the Honor V20 aka Honor View 20 at an event in Hong Kong last week, touting it as the company's first smartphone to sport a hole for the selfie camera. This seemed like a move to beat Samsung from being the first manufacturer to do so. At the event, Honor had revealed it would sport a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, and Link Turbo technology. In the meanwhile, it has also made an appearance on benchmarking website AnTuTu giving us a glimpse of what it is capable of. Now, the latest teasers reveal the smartphone will sport a 4,000mAh battery and a 25-megapixel selfie shooter in the display hole.

The Honor V20 will be launched in China on December 26, and the complete specifications of the smartphone can of course be expected to be revealed on that date. The global launch of the Honor View 20 is confirmed to take place in Paris on January 22. As we mentioned, the smartphone is already confirmed to sport a 48-megapixel rear Sony IMX586 sensor with features like a 1/2.0-inch CMOS sensor , 4-in-1 Light Fusion, 4 times sensor HDR, and certain AI functionality.

Huawei also confirmed that the Honor V20 aka View 20 will be powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC that is seen powering the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (Review). It will have a near bezel-less design without a notch as it has a 4.5mm camera cutout on the display as. While the Honor V20 was announced before the Huawei Nova 4, the Nova 4 will in fact be the first smartphone from Huawei to sport a display hole. As we mentioned, a similar camera cutout on the display is present on the Samsung Galaxy A8s.

An AI feature called Link Turbo was also shown off at launch, said to allow simultaneous download over Wi-Fi as well as 4G. A leak on Weibo claims that the smartphone will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone will run Android 9.0 out-of-the-box and have an estimated price of around CNY 3,000 (around Rs. 31,300).
