Micromax is teasing the launch of Canvas 4 via videos on its official YouTube channel.

Canvas 4 looks like company's next flagship phone, which would make it the successor to the popular Micromax A116 Canvas HD. Canvas 4 has made an appearance on two teaser videos posted by Micromax on its official YouTube channel. The promos were also spotted on TV during commercial breaks in the India vs. Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy match on Saturday.

While there are scant official details available other than the pre-booking date, speculation and rumours are rife about the specifications of the phone. One YouTube user believes there's a clear indication the phone would have an octa-core CPU and a 13-megapixel rear camera, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4. "It might have an octacore processor. When u closely see the first teaser, it shows 13 mp camera. When you observe this video, 8 phones merge into the Canvas 4," YouTube user Vinay BU noted in a comment.

Another interesting bit that is official, is the "Can life be endless?" line that Micromax is using to tease the Canvas 4. The line obviously seems like a reference to the battery life, and one wonders if one of the highlights of the Canvas 4 will be a big battery.

Micromax will likely need that big battery, give the Canvas 4 is said to sport a full-HD display. We've seen two full-HD budget smartphones launched already in the Indian market, in the form of Wickedleak Wammy Passion Z and the Lemon A4. While the Wammy Passion Z costs Rs. 14,990, the recently launched Lemon A4 carries a price tag of Rs. 17,999.

Given the price of these phones, it is possible for Micromax's next flagship to have a full-HD display and still be priced in the sub-Rs. 20,000 segment, company's preferred playground. With pre-bookings slated to begin June 28, we won't have to wait long to know the official specifications and price.
