The BlackBerry Classic Non Camera is now available to pre-order at Verizon starting at $99.99 (approximately Rs. 6,200) with a two-year contract while is also available unlocked at $399.99 (approximately Rs. 24,700). The original BlackBerry Classic smartphone was unveiled globally in December and was priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 30,800).
Both the camera and non-camera models of the BlackBerry Classic smartphone feature identical specifications except that the latter doesn't include cameras - rear and front.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8960) processor alongside 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB built-in storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The BlackBerry Classic Non Camera is powered by BlackBerry OS 10.3.1, which was rolled out earlier this month.
The handset includes Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity options. It packs accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light, and hall sensors.
Unlike the global variant that packs 2515mAh battery, the BlackBerry Classic QWERTY smartphone launched exclusively at Verizon includes 2500mAh non-removable battery.
Much like other BlackBerry 10 OS smartphones, the BlackBerry Classic comes preloaded with BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Assistant, Dropbox, Adobe Reader, Evernote, BlackBerry Blend, BBM, BlackBerry World, Amazon Appstore, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, and YouTube.
