Fairphone, founded in 2009, is a social enterprise targeting to build smartphones designed and produced with fair labour conditions for the workforce and the supply chain. The company claims to be the world's first to launch a modular smartphone - one that customers can assemble or even upgrade if they wish to. Fairphone's latest mobile launch is the 3. The smartphone was launched in August 2019. The phone comes with a 5.65-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,080 pixels by 2,160 pixels at a PPI of 427 pixels per inch.
The Fairphone 3 is powered by 2.2 MHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Fairphone 3 packs a 12-megapixel (f/1.8) primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Fairphone 3 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, FM, Wi-Fi Direct and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Face unlock, Fingerprint sensor, Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope and Barometer.
