LG is a perennial underdog in the smartphone industry, constantly overshadowed by Samsung and others. To its credit, the company knows this, and keeps trying new approaches that might appeal to niche audiences - things that capitalise on its in-house expertise and that no other company is doing. That's how we got the gloriously impractical G Flex (Review), the V-series with dual screens, and last year's modular G5 (Review). LG also hopes that features such as high-quality audio playback and recording will attract buyers who really value that kind of thing above all else. Unfortunately, most of its devices have rough edges, and haven't been priced competitively.

  • A beautiful and powerful flagship!
    Ved Sai Kirthi A (Dec 21, 2017) on Amazon
    After two days of using this beautiful phone, I can assure you, this is the best flagship at this price range. It beats OnePlus in its excellent PLED display and expandable memory. It also has FM radio. Though the FM app isn't built in, you can install FM from the source provided in XDA developers website and it works neat with headphones. No need an internet, just plug in your headphones and listen to your favorite FM station.Coming to pros and cons.Pros1. Splendid display on par with Samsung's AMOLED. Honestly, both LG and Samsung use plastic LEDs and Samsung had named it AMOLED, LG goes with PLED or Plastic LED.2. Excellent primary camera with a more than handy wide angle lens. Daylight images are great indeed.3. Design quality is pleasing. The phone is amazing to look at and weighs just about right. I own a silver colour/ Grey colour phone. LG has done a great job by providing silver accents to camera and fingerprint sensors. The metal frame may give it a similarity to old Samsungs but the quality of metal puts this apart.4. While the might have been better, I'm used to LG UI from G Pro and I love the double tap to wake and off. The power button is same as fingerprint and it's easier to identify the volume rockers. Touch for fingerprint and press for power, BANG!5. The battery lasts longer than expected for a real power user.6. LG phone shift is an handy software to copy your android settings from old phone including alarm, schedules for DND, user preferences and more.7. Expandable memory is a pro you could look at while choosing between OnePlus 5 and LG apart from better display.8. Brilliant graphics and gaming experience9. A pretty useful face recognitionCons1. Secondary camera is poor. Not meant for selfie crazed people.2. UI could have stood different from other LGs, but they stood for their approach.3. More colour options would have been nice.4. I miss my Moto X's style which had a splendid 13MP secondary shooter and a near stock android UI. Apart from that, I'm happy.Overall, I'm a happy customer and will update more after few more days of usage.

  • One of the best phones out there if you dont care about the missing portrait mode
    Mayank Kukreja (Dec 21, 2017) on Amazon
    Excellent phone at this price point. When you actually compare it with other competitors, you are getting more than the usual stuff.Pros.1) Wireless charging2) IP68 water resistance3) edge to edge OLED display (trust me it looks brilliant. The blue shift shouldnt bother you. You won't regret having this awesome display) and 6 inch display doesnt feel too big. Its just perfect for anyone except people with small hands.4) 32 bit DAC along woth a headphone jack.5) Fast charging (Qualcomm quickcharge 3)6) Fairly loud and good loudspeaker as compared to competitors7) Light weight8) high end internal specs (top end processor, 4 gb ram is more than enough to handle multitasking and gaming. Just having 6 or 8 gb ram for no reason is useless) 128gb storage9) excellent battery backup. Better battery backup than oneplus and samsung devices. Excellent standby time.10) last but not the least is the CAMERA. The camera captures some of the best daylight shots outdoors. Low light performance is better than most phones if not the best. REMEMBER, THIS PHONE WONT BE GOOD FOR PORTRAIT MODE PHOTOS (ones with blurry background portraits) BUT, THE WIDE ANGLE CAMERA WILL BE USED MORE OFTEN THAN A PORTRAIT MODE. (the craze for portrait modes will eventually fade away but wide angle lens comes in handy everytime)One of the reasons to prefer this phone over others would be for its wide angle lens. Not to forget all the modes you get in the camera app11) premium built quality, good vibration motor, Nothing about this phone feels cheap.Cons. (not really cons, coz they can be covered)1) User interface (the icons dont look that appealing, but install a launcher and you will be just as happy.) Speaking of user interface, lets cover it up by saying, lg ux has lots of features and this phone doesnt hang or lag. The experience is butter smooth.2) an okay/dull selfie camera (not as good as other phones) but it isnt the worst. It didnt matter to me as i am not a selfie person.3) power notification control missing (cannot set the levels in notification)Overall, you will love this phone if you are not a selfie person.Rest everything this phone offers is totally value for money. The pros mentioned above speak for themselves.

  • 4K 18:9 + Quad DAC : Life's Good
    Trimbak Kawdikar (Dec 21, 2017) on Amazon
    Best of Year-2017I have been a long time Samsung Flagship user with a sidelined LG, Sony, OnePlus and Iphone use. This time, LG replaced all the other from the Throne.The Beast practically does everything. Except what S-Pen from the note series, which i have been a big fan of, V30+ takes away the deal.Pros-Quad DAC + 32bit sound support (Audiophiles- Go for it)Premium Quality + Built Quality (Crafted to look BEAUTiful)The 18:9 UHD Display16+13 mp Rear CameraA full day of Battery PowerHuge 128GB + Expandable StorageLG Earphones are decent.Smooth UIBest and yet Beating the odds with that Price (One plus users - watch Techalter @ YouTube)FM radio app available with XDACons-All glass back (especially back) prone to fingerprintsSelfie CamThough MIL-STD, one might not want to drop it

  • LG V30+++++
    Vin (Dec 21, 2017) on Amazon
    I absolutely love the display. I have been a Samsung users for years but i see no different in V30+ display. It is an awesome huge display phone.Rear ultra wide angle camera is just plain awesome. I find that i use the ultra wide angle camera more than the main normal angle camera.Maybe both rear camera are not as good as pixel 2 or iphone X. But i find them really good enough even for low light shot. I mean i take my photos and post them in social media page and i can't tell if there is any huge differences.Audio wise, the speaker is really loud and clear although it is single speaker.If i really want to listen to some great music, i would plug in a nice pair of headphone (Shure SRH440). Which sounded many time more superior than any phones.128GB storage with sim card slot is pure ecstasy for me.In conclusion, this is the best phones i have so far...Fully recommended.Update: received my free wireless charger thank you LG.I really appreciate it.
