  • Great value for a strong
Dipper (Jun 18, 2017) on Amazon
Great value for a strong laptop. It doesn't come with much memory but it's easy to add more once that becomes an issue. I use it mostly for 3d rendering software and light gaming. Nothing slows it down.

  • The Lenovo Legion Y520 is
Jake Mohlman (Jun 7, 2017) on Amazon
The Lenovo Legion Y520 is an absolute beast in a surprisingly light package, and whether you are using it for work or pleasure, I have nothing but nice things to say about it. The screen is beautiful and the solid state drive is blazingly fast. I run some fairly robust spreadsheets with large datasets and macros and I have been amazed by how much faster they process on the SSD versus a traditional HD. Of course this is a machine focused on gaming, and while I?m not the gamer I once was, I?ve been running Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition with a ton of graphical mods with nary a hiccough. My only complaint, and it?s not about the device itself, is that Lenovo has continued their longstanding tradition of packing their devices with bloat-ware. This is nothing new, and it can all be deleted, but any time I get a new Lenovo I plan on spending a half an hour deleting all of the stuff I don?t want. It would be obnoxious on a lesser machine, but given the quality/price point on the Legion Y520 it?s really hard to call it anything more than a temporary inconvenience.

  • This is a very excellent
Orion (May 19, 2017) on Amazon
This is a very excellent and powerful computer, sure to be loved by gamers. I am not a gamer, but I am a programmer, so I need a fast computer. I ran benchmarks on the Lenovo Legion Y520, and it performed better than my souped-up desktop, which impressed me. This is really a spectacular machine. It is the fastest computer we have, which means it is likely to become my main development system. The keyboard is roomy and beautiful. The keys are rimmed with red. It makes them easy to see, but also soothing on the eyes.It took me a long time to figure out how to use the key pad. Here is an important tip: if you are searching for information about the keypad, you need to search for "smart pad". If you search for keypad or touch pad you will not get the right information. I spent a LONG TIME searching on the wrong term when I was trying to figure how to do a finger scroll. It was a painful journey to discover this information, and along the way, I was led to the Lenovo web site, where a popup window encouraged to take a survey before downloading a driver. This is completely the wrong answer and I think Lenovo could do a better job of providing answers to frequently asked questions. You can scroll on the smart pad if you use two fingers at a time. There is no CD drive, which can make loading some software tricky. • The product itself works great,
Link Jones (Sep 15, 2017) on Amazon
The product itself works great, However with serious gaming, The nerve sense was buggy to my ping? I do run a VPN, and started using Haste, so i had to test everything and the NERVE gaming software from Lenovo was actually causing super high ping, once i turned that off, smooth sailing. The graphics are beautiful and have had no issues once i configured the Nvidia setting to my particular games.

Great Linux-friendly laptop which should run all the latest games. Xcom2 runs at 30+ fps on Linux Mint 18.2. Very nice keyboard. Couldn't be more pleased for spending $799.

Krista (Aug 31, 2017) on Amazon
So far this has exceeded expectations. Best keyboard I've used hands down, speakers are awesome, good amount of storage for casual gamers but could probably hold around 10 or so average sized games. Plays DAI with zero issues. Nice USB ports, nice size, not too heavy. My only tiny complaint is that it shows fingerprints VERY easily but those can be wiped away.

Amazon Customer (Aug 4, 2017) on Amazon
Just bought this laptop a week ago, and every since I booted it up it has constant stuttering issues every 5-10 seconds. It doesn't matter what i'm doing, browsing the web, watching videos, Netflix, counter strike, etc it will stutter. The stuttering starts after I exit a game (any game), and will continue until I restart my computer. Its extremely frustrating and I think I will probably return this laptop (which is a shame because I really liked the aesthetic of the laptop, and the specs).EDIT: UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING DRIVERS FIXED IT

  • I've been using this attractive
Gypsi (Jul 10, 2017) on Amazon
I've been using this attractive laptop for about 2 months now, and am completely pleased. It is thin and light, despite all it's hardware. It gets over 4 hours of battery time when I'm surfing, using Word, the like, and 2+ hours for gaming or watching movies. It recharges quickly. The keyboard has a red back light which can be dimmed or turned off according to need. My games, even older ones, run smoothly. It does not get hot, even after hours of gaming. The sound is surprisingly good for a laptop: I usually need to hookup my Bluetooth speaker to get enough sound for movies or music, but this one is loud enough and doesn't get tinny at top volume. I've not had any connection problems with Bluetooth or WiFi. Overall, and especially when compared to my previous Asus (ASUS ROG GL502VS-DB71 15.6" FullHD Gaming Laptop,Intel Core i76700HQ,NVIDIA GTX 1070,256GB PCIE SSD+1TB HDD,Windows 10,Black) this is a five star product.

  • I love this laptop! I
    Theresa W. (Jul 6, 2017) on Amazon
I love this laptop! I use it for email, social media and artwork through the app Canva. It is lightweight, has a back lit keyboard and is the perfect laptop for me and what I use it for. I am not a gamer, but both my sons were so impressed with this laptop's capabilities for gaming. I use a wireless mouse as I am old school and prefer that over the mini pad. It is an extremely good looking laptop and I appreciate all it does for me, as well as being the fastest processing computer I have ever owned! The only downside I have found is the battery life is max 4 hours. Here are the specs: 7th generation Intel Core Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Graphics and hybrid storage, for fast-paced gaming. With or without gaming headphones, the legion Y520 has you covered with 2 x 2W Harman speakers with Dolby Audio premium to deliver customized Audio for all content. The legion Y520 Features a Crimson backlight keyboard that provides 1.7 mm of key travel for crisp, accurate, and responsive keystrokes for those Late night gaming sessions. At a mere 2.58 mm (1.02?) thin and only 2.5 kgs (5.28 lbs.) light, the Y520 won?t weigh you down.

  • This laptop is an outstanding
    Multi-Media Man (Jun 20, 2017) on Amazon
This laptop is an outstanding choice for a pc. The build is excellent, with the fit and finish is outstanding. I also notice a major step up in the quality of the display vs. my old and dated Toshiba. The weight of this computer seems fairly light making this a good choice if you take your pc on the road.I use this laptop as the command center for my online music system, and it has been stellar in performing in this capacity. Processing is fast which means I do not experience long lag time when changing songs while using my jriver media center player.I have not used this computer for any gaming up to this point, however based on the other uses I have experienced with this unit so far I am confident it would excel here too.I definitely recommend this product if you need a moderate priced pc. While there are cheaper options available, you would sacrifice form and function if you go that route.

  • Had this laptop for about
    Cassie P (Nov 1, 2017) on Amazon
Had this laptop for about a week now. Plays Destiny 2, PUBG, and Stardew Valley without issues. Doesn't lag at all in game and I get relatively good FPS. I can't say the exact numbers, but I see no difference between the laptop and my tower PC. The screen quality is amazing. Browsing the web, everything is crisp and clear. Game colors are vibrant. The laptop fans barely come on and the laptop stays cool while playing the above mentioned games. The laptop also feels and looks very high quality. I was between the Lenovo and the Asus, which both look very similar and have similar specs, but ended up getting the Lenovo because more people online reviewed it. At Costco I saw both laptops side by side and while they look similar, the material and construction are slightly different and Lenovo wins, in my opinion. All in all, great budget gaming laptop. I am happy with my purchase.

  • Great computer, powerful processing. Only
Jac (Nov 7, 2017) on Amazon
Great computer, powerful processing. Only complaint goes for most laptops now, the multifunction mousepad is a pain that you can't shut off. Computer works great, battery holds up pretty good (nothing exceptional), graphics are good (it's not 4k or something), memory is more than enough for me right now. I can play games on it, watch shows, and do homework. It's slim, but the surface area is large. I got it on sale, and I feel it was a good value.

  • This is a good gaming
Jacob (Sep 7, 2018) on Amazon
This is a good gaming laptop. It runs whatever i need it to(overwatch, subnautica, rainbow six siege). if you are willing to spend more, possibly look into something higher grade, but at the price this laptop has been great for me so far. Definitely would recommend for those looking for gaming laptop in the 800-900 range, as I have been very satisfied so far.One tip is I would recommend keeping it cool with a cooling pad, as extended heavy gaming usage will heat it up quite a bit.Overall, great gaming laptop for its price.

  • Ive been using this laptop
Elegron (Jun 13, 2019) on Amazon
Ive been using this laptop for about a year now, and it runs very smoothly on almost any game (except rust. Nothing runs rust well). The screen is a bit dim, it lasts for about an hour off of battery, and its quite heavy, but thats how they got it to be half the price of its competitors. Those issues rarely inconvenience me, and I can pack it up and take it wherever I go and play anything on steam.
