Great value for a strong laptop. It doesn't come with much memory but it's easy to add more once that becomes an issue. I use it mostly for 3d rendering software and light gaming. Nothing slows it down.

The Lenovo Legion Y520 is

The Lenovo Legion Y520 is an absolute beast in a surprisingly light package, and whether you are using it for work or pleasure, I have nothing but nice things to say about it. The screen is beautiful and the solid state drive is blazingly fast. I run some fairly robust spreadsheets with large datasets and macros and I have been amazed by how much faster they process on the SSD versus a traditional HD. Of course this is a machine focused on gaming, and while I?m not the gamer I once was, I?ve been running Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition with a ton of graphical mods with nary a hiccough. My only complaint, and it?s not about the device itself, is that Lenovo has continued their longstanding tradition of packing their devices with bloat-ware. This is nothing new, and it can all be deleted, but any time I get a new Lenovo I plan on spending a half an hour deleting all of the stuff I don?t want. It would be obnoxious on a lesser machine, but given the quality/price point on the Legion Y520 it?s really hard to call it anything more than a temporary inconvenience.

This is a very excellent and powerful computer, sure to be loved by gamers. I am not a gamer, but I am a programmer, so I need a fast computer. I ran benchmarks on the Lenovo Legion Y520, and it performed better than my souped-up desktop, which impressed me. This is really a spectacular machine. It is the fastest computer we have, which means it is likely to become my main development system. The keyboard is roomy and beautiful. The keys are rimmed with red. It makes them easy to see, but also soothing on the eyes.It took me a long time to figure out how to use the key pad. Here is an important tip: if you are searching for information about the keypad, you need to search for "smart pad". If you search for keypad or touch pad you will not get the right information. I spent a LONG TIME searching on the wrong term when I was trying to figure how to do a finger scroll. It was a painful journey to discover this information, and along the way, I was led to the Lenovo web site, where a popup window encouraged to take a survey before downloading a driver. This is completely the wrong answer and I think Lenovo could do a better job of providing answers to frequently asked questions. You can scroll on the smart pad if you use two fingers at a time. There is no CD drive, which can make loading some software tricky. We ordered an

The product itself works great, However with serious gaming, The nerve sense was buggy to my ping? I do run a VPN, and started using Haste, so i had to test everything and the NERVE gaming software from Lenovo was actually causing super high ping, once i turned that off, smooth sailing. The graphics are beautiful and have had no issues once i configured the Nvidia setting to my particular games.

Great Linux-friendly laptop which should run all the latest games. Xcom2 runs at 30+ fps on Linux Mint 18.2. Very nice keyboard. Couldn't be more pleased for spending $799.

So far this has exceeded expectations. Best keyboard I've used hands down, speakers are awesome, good amount of storage for casual gamers but could probably hold around 10 or so average sized games. Plays DAI with zero issues. Nice USB ports, nice size, not too heavy. My only tiny complaint is that it shows fingerprints VERY easily but those can be wiped away.
