Sony reveals Windows 8-based VAIO Duo 11 hybrid Ultrabook and VAIO Tap20 tabletop PC

Sony has revealed two bold new designs in the VAIO series in the form of VAIO Duo 11 and VAIO Tap20.

The Sony VAIO Duo 11 slider hybrid Ultrabook combines fully-featured PC productivity with tablet convenience. The Surf Slider design transforms full-function Ultrabook PC into tablet operating mode for on-the-go computing.

The Sony VAIO Duo 11 comes with a 11.6-inch full-HD touchscreen and a digitizer stylus pen. It is 17.85mm thin, and weighs 1.3kg.

While the VAIO Duo 11 targets the professional on-the-go, Sony is positioning the VAIO Tap20 tabletop PC as "fun for the whole family". The VAIO Tap20 is a new-style PC with multi-touch panel that comes with a unique adjustable stand for comfortable computing in any position: lay-flat, tilting or desktop-style.

It comes with a massive 20-inch screen with 10-point multi-touch operation lets all the family join in simultaneously with multi-player games. The built-in battery gives portability around the home.
Unique multi-user apps including Family Paint and Fingertapps Organizer.

Both VAIO Duo 11 and VAIO Tap20 run Windows 8 and are lined up for an October release. Pricing information isn't available yet.
