Co-founder of social news website 'Digg' Kevin Rose has been hired by Google and could start working as early as Monday. He will be joined by his entire team of mobile app incubator Milk at Mountain View as Milk's only product Oink has already announced its closure on March 14.

Google is not acquiring Milk, but has hired Rose and other employees from the company.

As per reports in AllThingsD, sources familiar with the development have said that Milk employees will be getting $1 million to $2 million each as a part of this deal.

Google is yet to officially confirm this.

Rose has a big online following, which could be a boon for Google+, as the social network is struggling with user engagement.
