In our weekly column Personally Tech we talk to people from all walks of life to learn about the apps and gadgets that they love and can't live without. Technology has changed the way we all live and work, in myriad ways.

This week, we spoke to Nakul Kumar, the COO and Founder of ReGlobe, an Indian company that takes old phones and refurbishes them. This means that you can sell your old phones to them, or buy refurbished phones at generally low prices. ReGlobe also deals in other electronics products, and companies like these are filling a niche in organising the large second hand goods market in India.

When we talked to Kumar about the apps and gadgets he loves, it became clear that technology is a way for him to have fun. This foodie is also a gamer, and his evenings are split between making plans using Zomato, and fighting virtual wars in Call of Duty. Read on to know more about the apps and gadgets that he uses.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Nakul Kumar
: I'm using a Dell Ultrabook, the HTC One, and an iPad Air. The iPad is used only for games and for reading books. I also own an Xbox 360 with a collection of 20+ FPS games; I am a big Call of Duty fan.

All these gadgets that I use, are used goods, not just because of ReGlobe, but also because I believe in the importance of recycling electronics for the sake of the environment.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Nakul Kumar
: We are a team of 30 people and quite a few of us are on move on all the time. Given this situation, I have to stay connected to my team so WhatsApp and Gmail are must haves. WhatsApp helps my team stay connected to me in realtime. And because I am a foodie, I regularly use the Zomato app for restaurant reviews and new places. My evening plans to eat are usually around the Zomato app.

Which is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Nakul Kumar
: In the current business scenario a lot of work is being done on phones, be it calls, meetings or just using it for mails. With short battery backup I need it to stay powered all the time. So when am travelling, carrying a power bank is a must. I am voracious user of the phone and keep getting spare power banks to ensure that I am connected at all times.

Next in line is my iPad, it helps to read, play games and just keep in engaged in flights.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Nakul Kumar
: I would love to customise a Macbook Pro Retina with Windows. I also love the idea of a holographic 3D gaming experience like in the movie Her.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Nakul Kumar
: With the help of technology we can collaborate so much better as a team. It also helps to reduce travel as now you can get connected with the Internet. I also have the flexibility to log in from anywhere, be it home or any other place or when I am travelling.
