Polish video game developer and publisher CD Projekt S.A., formerly and commonly known as CD Projekt Red, has announced the release date of the much-awaited next instalment of its acclaimed Witcher franchise - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - as February 24 (for PC, PS4, and Xbox One).
The company also announced the availability of pre-orders in some regions for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt box edition (which features the soundtrack, stickers, a map, and a compendium), collector's edition (which will feature a figurine, a medallion, a SteelBook, and an artbook in addition to the box edition), and the digital edition (on GoG.com).

, the company also released a new trailer, titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - The Sword of Destiny. The trailer shows some gameplay footage, with Geralt of Rivia battling various types of foes while mounted or on foot, including various wild animals and mythical monsters (part of the Wild Hunt).
Also seen is Geralt's adopted daughter, Ciri (actually the daughter of Pavetta and Duny), who seems to be running for her life, and is described as the possible cause of the Wild Hunt. CD Project Red promised to reveal more details at E3 2014

The Witcher series is based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski's series of books and short stories by the same name. The books have thus far been adapted into movie and televisions series, apart from of course the acclaimed game franchise that's known for its complex gameplay and cutting-edge graphics, as well as its realistic and mature plot.
CD Projekt Red also announced The Witcher Adventure Game (a digital board game) is in development for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows, and that players can sign up for a closed beta via the GoG Galaxy service. The game will apparently work cross-platform between GoG and Steam.
