Mortal Kombat 11 for the Nintendo Switch won't run at 30fps as many would have assumed. According to a recent interview with series co-creator and Mortal Kombat 11 Creative Director Ed Boon, the Mortal Kombat 11 Nintendo Switch frame rate will be 60fps. Furthermore, it won't drop to 30fps and there won't be any major graphical differences versus PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC versions of the game. While we're skeptical about the claims regarding visual fidelity, it will be interesting to see if it manages a solid 60fps at launch.

Aside from Boon's interview with GameInformer confirming the game's frame rate, fans have unearthed that the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 will have a download size of 22.53GB. What's more is, the game ships on a single Nintendo Switch cartridge of 8GB. This means that you'll need to download  the rest of the game before you can play. This is a disappointing decision from publisher WB Games as it destroys any reason to buy it on cartridge, ignores the Nintendo Switch's ridiculously poor Wi-Fi, and shows wanton disregard for those without a decent Internet connection.

Previously, Gadgets 360 reported that the Mortal Kombat 11 Nintendo Switch release date for India has been delayed. According to a listing on Indian specialist retailer, Games The Shop, the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 is out on May 17. Warner Bros. is yet to comment on a delay for the game on Nintendo Switch, though certain international retailers have listed the game for a May 10 release date. It's odd to see the Mortal Kombat 11 Nintendo Switch release date for India be a week later than the rest of the world. Usually, Warner Bros. has a good track record with releasing its games on time in the country.

According to multiple listings from European retailers, including Nintendo's own UK store, the Mortal Kombat 11 release date may be delayed to May 10 for Europe. Oddly enough, regions outside Europe like US and Asia still have the game primed for an April 23 date. Nonetheless, Gadgets 360 has got in touch with the game's distributor and will update this story if it hears from the company.

Mortal Kombat 11 builds on the story of the last game. Thunder god Raiden has upset the balance of history by killing Elder God Shinnok. This sets off Kronika, the keeper of time, to bring balance to the universe by any means needed. NetherRealm stated that the story will have characters from one Mortal Kombat timeline meeting younger versions of themselves as well.
