Google has announced that it will be presenting a keynote on March 19 at this year's Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. We had earlier reported that the Internet search giant may be launching a new game-streaming hardware at the event. Now a new report claims that Google will indeed be unveiling the final version of the gaming machine that's only been known as ‘Project Yeti' up until now. The new hardware is said to feature a game streaming service that would be powered by Google's Project Stream technology was had been in testing until earlier this year.

Besides claiming to confirm the hardware launch, the report by 9to5Google says that the hardware that Google had planned for Yeti was reportedly similar to a Chromecast dongle. Now, it seems that the design has evolved to a gaming console with a gaming controller.

If you remember, Project Stream was in consumer testing phase with the full version of Assassin's Creed Odyssey playable on any computer (PC, Mac, or Linux) with a Google Chrome browser or Chrome OS. The only major requirement was a 25Mbps Internet connection.

The service was only limited to the US during the testing period, but the vision was to provide a AAA gaming experience without the need of high-end hardware. The consumer testing phase of Project Stream came to an end in January this year, but not without giving the players a much-appreciated gift.

We had earlier reported that several gaming outlets had received invites to Google's keynote but it was just speculation at that point. It's also reported that there are already some studios that have worked with Google to port their existing games testing and it may include in-game chat.

Google's GDC keynote is scheduled for 10am PST (11:30pm IST), on March 19.
