Badhasho is an action thriller drama set in the era of Emergency, that draws inspiration from a similar real-life incident. The film has on focus a royal family of Rajasthan who hasn’t yet submitted its gold possession to the government, despite the end of their ancestral reign. As the Emergency is declared, the government sends orders for seizing the gold from the palace. This sudden declaration might have something to do with personal grudges between Maharani Gitanjali (Ileana D'Cruzand) and Rajiv (Priyanshu Chatterjee), an influential political figure. After the gold is seized, Gitanjali orders her personal security in-charge Bhawani Singh (Ajay Devgn) to retrieve all the gold back to the palace. Singh forms an alliance with Gitanjali’s trusted aide Sanjana (Esha Gupta), a cat burglar Tikla (Sanjay Mishra), and a gun-for-hire Dalia (Emraan Hashmi) for the mission. The small troop decides to loot the armoured truck carrying all the gold during its eight-hour long journey to Delhi through the sandy deserts of Rajasthan.
