Very good laptop. Although this is a gamer laptop I bought it to use for development and the performance is amazing. Some projects that used to take 3 minutes to compile on my old (i5 4th gen + SSD + 8GB RAM) are now getting build in 30 seconds. Didn't use if for games yet so can't comment on GPU performance.

I love Asus, so when the time came to upgrade my equipment naturally i started looking to see what was available.That's when i found Computer Upgrade King. The laptop I purchased from them, hands down, is the most powerful and reliable device I have ever owned. This thing handles my DJ software (Traktor), my DAWs (Ableton Live / Bitwig Studio 2), and even the most demanding games in my arsenal. (Conan Exiles, FFXIV, The Division, No Man's Sky, etc.)I am thoroughly impressed with C.U.K. on their shipping time as well. 3 days and I had my brand new device! Es una laptop increible, rapida a mas no poder, un rendimiento de batería buenísimo, y esa pantalla FullHD 120Hz wow es lo máximo, tiene unas salidas de aire perfectas que mantendrán tu laptop en optimas condiciones y ese teclado multicolor es increible. Les recomiendo la compren que no se van a arrepentir!Ademas viene en su caja con todos sus accesorios,manuales y demás.

The 8th gen i5 puts the 7th gen i7s to shame. Hitting 3.9GHz on all hyper-threaded quad cores (!!!) while remaining stable is no feat to go unnoticed. The GTX 1050 4GB provides modest gaming performance, albeit lackluster for 1080p modern titles. The SSD is great so far, but I never heard of this company so we will have to see long-term performance (3 year warranty on it from CUK).One terrible thing is the touchpad. By God is it garbage. I won't remove a star just because I never use my laptop without an external mouse. The chassis is plastic and flexes quite noticeable under tension, but it is lightweight and is durable as long as you don't to anything stupid to it.TL;DR: For $850, you get a great deal on a laptop that is perfect for university and casual gaming as it is a perfect combination of performance and portability.

i bought this because i love my 17 inch and i wanted one a bit smaller to carry to my friends house, great gaming computer

Just getting it set up as a 'desktop replacement' for photo and video editing, mainly, including 4K footage. There have been a couple of unexptected glitches that I've had to find 'work-around's' for. Once it went into sleepmode by the sleep key, closing the lid, or short press on power button, it could not be awakened. Another short press on power would just re-boot it. I saw numerous other reports of same behavior. Multiple attempts to correct this failed, so I just reassigned the behavior of each of these inputs to go to 'hibernate' mode, rather than sleep, and now it will wake up OK, although slower than it should from sleep. An ambient light sensor to control the brightness of the keyboard backlights (a-la Macbook) would be a nice addition. The tiny 'delete' key on the top row will take some getting used to, otherwise, keyboard is nice. I can live with the somewhat 'immature' graphics of the case, as I'm somewhat 'immature' myself ;-) Trackpad is a little 'sticky' when gliding, as it's plastic and not glass, but not too bad. I'll be using with a remote keyboard/mouse anyway.

It's just a laptop

Bought this computer for photo work not gaming. Lightroom/photoshop works almost flawlessly with this setup. Truly enjoyed using it.With my old computer, the screen would go black for about 5 seconds while processing. This one would give me a black screen for a half second every now and then.The 3 Stars.... The WIFI worked for about 2 weeks. Then started getting an error message about hardware issue with it. There are other reviews that state the same problem. One of the reviews said the problem was the module wasnt seated. A simple fix, but I was unwilling to jeopardize any warranty the computer had.Amazon has been wonderful with returning this item. Which is why I use them for most of my purchases.

I loved this laptop until about a week in a half in, the WiFi and Bluetooth stopped working . I read someone?s else review on here who has the same issue a month ago.. I?m wondering if there is a bad batch with defects and we both got one ? I?m returning this unfortunately, I really wanted to keep this but I am afraid of getting another defective one.

The power cord caught fire recently, I found out later it was part of the fault LS-15 product line which was issued a recall, even though their recall website says it isn't part of the recalled product line. This could have put my life in danger and it has rendered my laptop useless since it damaged the charging port. I will not buy HP ever again.

 Very fast computer and looks awesome i like it. but it makes very bad pitch noise, or white noise, like somethimes old charger on the wall with no phone, lot of worse noise than old hdd sounds. So small sound when it works on battery but when it plugged in it is make head ache. cant work on this laptop im gonna return it tomorrow. So sad. I looked in internet and there is other Asus users with this problem.
