After announcing a Halloween event that brought spooky Pokemon and a wealth of candy, Pokemon Go developer Niantic has announced daily bonuses.

“Trainers will soon be able to receive a bonus for certain daily activities, including catching a Pokemon or visiting a PokeStop once a day,” a post from the developer reads.

It also states players will earn a larger bonus on doing so seven days in a row.

How to get Pokemon Go daily bonuses:

1. Catching a Pokemon every day will earn the following bonus:
• 500 XP
• 600 Stardust

2. Catching a Pokemon every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
• 2,000 XP
• 2,400 Stardust

3. Visiting a PokeStop and spinning the Photo Disc every day will earn the following bonus:
• 500 XP
• A number of additional items

4. Visiting a PokeStop every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
• 2,000 XP
• A greater number of additional items

If you catch a Pokemon at any time on Tuesday local time, you’ll be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12am local time.

It’s a smart move from Niantic to bring in daily bonuses. Several reports have claimed that the popularity of the game has waned despite being downloaded over 500 million times across platforms. It should do enough to bring lapsed fans back and keep those who are playing engaged for an even longer duration.

Despite Niantic and The Pokemon Company’s refusal to bring Pokemon Go to India, it’s still seen a large degree of traction.
