There are very few apps in App Store that have seen the kind of success like the original Facetune did. Now, Lightbricks, the company behind the image touch-up app, has come up with the successor to the app, called Facetune 2. It allows users to make use of even more powerful tools than before to make sure that they look perfect in their photos.

Interestingly, with the new app, the developer has abandoned its one-time payment model for a subscription-based model to ensure recurring payments from its customers. Even though the application is free in itself, users are required to make in-app purchases to use some of the advanced tools within the app. Users also have an option to instead choose a monthly or annual subscription to get full access to the most powerful tools that the app offers.

Facetune 2 lets users see live previews of the effects that it offers and allows them to adjust the intensity as per their requirement. The app recognises the face instantly and allows users to either replace the backgrounds or apply filters to their liking. With Facetune 2, users can remove wrinkles, scars, and blemishes from the face or can adjust the lighting in the images to ensure that their pictures don't go waste.

Further, the facial features can be reshaped, skin can be smoothened, and the teeth can be whitened using the various tools present in the app.

We spent some time with the app, and found it to be fairly simple to use. It's tools to remove blemishes from the skin or brighten the face work with simple finger swipes over the areas where effects have to be implemented. The intensity of the effects can then be adjusted using a slider. If users want to compare the images before the application of the filters, they can do so by dragging the slider from left-hand side to the right and see the changes in real-time.

Users are required to pay $4 (roughly Rs. 270) for a monthly subscription, $15 (roughly Rs. 1,000) for a semi-annual subscription, or $20 (roughly Rs. 1,350) for a yearly subscription to the app.

If you like clicking pictures and want to make every picture look perfect, you might want to head directly to the App Store and check out the new app by Lightbricks.
