amazing laptop

I shopped around for a while before I decided on my Acer. I love it. It can do everything I have thrown at it. Got a great deal on it, too, open-box fm Amazon Warehouse. Absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

Bought this as a gift for my brother he hasn't complained so I assume all is well.

Heavy, but worth the price.

Getting it refurbished, the hard drive failed within a week. After replacing it with an SSD it preformed remarkably well for a $500 laptop. I am satisfied!

Pros: Price, performance, keyboard, design.Cons: Mousepad feels cheap, battery life is below average, speakers are not good.Overall: It's a decent laptop that is a great deal at this price range. I would recommend this laptop to students and everyday users on a small budget.

Very loud! It sounds like it is loading something constantly. I've had it for over 30 days so it says I can't return it. 😖

It's not bad for the price however I do strongly suggest to swap out the 1TB HDD and replace with an SSD. The hard drive this thing comes with is terribly slow. Once you get an SSD inside, it really begins to perform well as a budget student laptop.

Some things I am not happy with. I cannot use the microphone (internal or external) because the computer shuts it down constantly. And Acer seems to have no idea what to do about it. Service is essentially non-existent. However, it is overall a very decent computer for a very good price.

You'll get what you pay for. Good laptop for normal/simple work. It freezes and restarts by itself once a month.

Not as fast as I anticipated. I would rather save up for a macbook air. My daughter has a macbook air and the speed of her laptop blows mine right out of the water..

Giving this 2 stars for now. Advertised as 6 GB RAM and only came with 2 GB of RAM. This makes the computer VERY slow, and it only has one RAM slot.So on top of the purchase price of this computer I now have to purchase upgraded RAM as well. Just a warning for those seeking a budget laptop. I'll update this as I check out the rest of the computer.

The power adapter to the unit did not fit snugly to attach itself to the unit to power itself.

I've had this laptop for just over a year and it's entire time with me, it's been extremely slow. It's to a point where I don't see how this could even be considered as a "beginner" computer for people who don't use laptops for more than what's necessary. Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed in the quality. I realize it's not a very expensive laptop, but what's the point in even selling this junk if it's almost entirely useless? It's finally reached the end of its life. It started by crashing and setting up a temporary profile. Fine. I had a new admin profile made to continue using it. That profile began randomly crashing. I reset the computer. Now the computer is comparable to the computers of my youth in that one task can take it literally minutes to complete. Just getting google chrome open takes about 5 minutes minimum. SO I then have my windows explorer restart in hopes that that will help it recover. Nope. Now it's literally just a black screen. Nothing. Thanks for nothing, Acer. And thanks for nothing, Amazon -- seeing as how by selling this product you seem to be endorsing this piece of trash.

Arrived used and missing charger.

Basically junk.Please don?t waste your time & money.I guarantee that unless you?ve been living in a small Siberian village where the local river doubles as a highway for the last 40 years, you will be sorely disappointed with this product.Glaciers in Northern Iceland are faster - you could catch a bus to the library, wait in line for a computer, do your business, catch the bus home & this thing will still be loading.Please note: I?m not a gamer & was hoping to use this laptop to do simple internet surfing & word processing at home. It was ?faster? once all the junk was removed but that?s only relative to how insanely slow it was before.Don?t bother.

Refused to turn on after 1 day. When it did run the fan ran full blast all the time. Thumbs up for Amazon for handling the return without giving me a hassle.

Terrible laptop

Had this computer from Nov 17 to August 2019. Suddenly its saying no bootable drive. Before that it ran impossibly slow, had to remove all Acer software to get it from using 100% disk.

Idk if I just got a bad one but used it 3 times and had to call amazon 2 of those times. Would come on but screen would stay black. Junk. Returned it
