The WhatsApp delete for everyone feature that was released a couple of weeks ago lets users delete messages they have already sent. While everyone thought that the feature would mean the recipient would not be able to see those messages at all, it turns out that is not the case. A Spanish Android blog has pointed out users can read part of the (deleted) WhatsApp messages sent to them as they are saved as part of the notifications log in Android. Using a third-party app called Notification History, users can search for the said message. However, there are some limitations. Only the first 100 characters of the delete WhatsApp messages will be retrieved; images and other multimedia files cannot be recovered after being deleted, just text messages; the feature works only on Android Nougat and above builds.

Apple said to be working with TRAI on an anti-spam app for India
Apple has reportedly consented to give limited help to the Indian government in developing an anti-spam app for the iPhone after a year-long tussle with telecom regular TRAI. The company had apparently so far refused to help out due to privacy concerns as a government app with access to users’ calls and messages would compromise the users' privacy. The report cites an anonymous government official saying Apple executives have extended the help in limited capacity, and the government app would not be able to log users’ call. Apple did not comment on the app’s potential to tap call logs, but said iOS 11's new features to fight back again SMS spam would help the government build the said app.

Face ID glitch?
iPhone X may be the top Apple smartphone you can buy right now, but its highlight feature – the Face ID – may not be as perfect as the company would like you to believe. Face ID allegedly unlocked a 41-year-old woman’s iPhone X while scanning her 10-year-old son’s face. While Apple had earlier acknowledged its TrueDepth sensors may fail with children below 13 years of age, there are not many similarities between the faces of the mother and the son, at least to the human eye.

In other iPhone X news, the new Apple flagship – along with its siblings iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus – will soon get faster wireless charging experience. The upcoming iOS 11.2 update (currently in beta testing stage) is said to make wireless charging on the three handsets 50 percent faster, delivering 7.5W of power up from up from the current 5W. However, it will still not be the fastest as some Qi wireless charging pads can deliver up to 15W of power.
