  • A good phone with minor hiccups
Brad Nathan (May 12, 2014) on Gadgets 360
I am writing this review after 2 years of using this device. I bought this phone when it was newly launched and boasted of features that were quite good, and was the 1st phablet in the market. This is my first smartphone and I am quite happy with it with a few shortcomings though.. Pros: 1. Watching videos and web browsing is delight on the 5.3" screen. 2. 1.5GHz Dual Core Processor handles day to day usage like calls, messages & emails very well. It also handles Casual Gaming Quite well, though high end games like Asphalt 6 & 7 did lag. 3. Call Quality is good, loud enough & good voice clarity. 4. Battery Backup is good, and provides a full day of use with medium to heavy usage, provides 10 to 12 hours with 3G connectivity. 5. Display is quite crisp and clear. 6. Not as big or clunky as it appears, comfortable for usage. but single handed use is difficult, though keyboard, dialer and calculator, can be adjusted for one hand use(option in settings menu). 7. 8 MP camera shoots pics and videos really well, front 2 MP camera is also decent for selfies. 8. After the jelly Bean update, the UI became very smooth & features like popup browser, multi-window, Blocking mode, driving mode etc were added to the Note, which proved to be quite useful. 9. Loudspeaker is also loud enough, not loud enough to fill up a room though but loud enough for a group of people sitting nearby. Cons: 1. Internal Memory of 16 GB( partition of 2 GB + 14GB) is low in this day and age, 2. Touchwiz UI is a very heavy Android Skin and can be quite slow with noticeable lags, like opening gallery or the camera. 3. Even though the S Pen is a valuable addition to the Note, but it appeals to a very niche audience like people who like sketching etc. Frankly I didnt use it much, but it works pretty well, while editing images and taking screenshots. 4. Samsung Stock Apps take up quite a bit of the internal memory, and there is no option to uninstall them. 5. The portion near the camera gets hot during gaming. This is a very good phone, even after using it for 2 years, its still in a very good condition, with a few minor hiccups. This phone can be recommended to business class people or people who use their phones mainly for social uses, browsing, listening to music, casual gaming etc.

  • Bad buy in 2014
Mukesh Kiran (May 6, 2014) on Gadgets 360
First let me talk about pros of Galaxy note N7000. The screen resolution and video clarity is very good. battery life is very good with normal usage without 3G connection.Easy to carry different places not bulky. screen size helps in viewing more content than other phones with less screen size. Now cons about the phone 1. UI is very laggy , even after the update it lags a lot which is irritating. 2. Call quality is average. 3. width of the phone is more to hold the phone with one hand, Note 2 has improvised this by reducing the width of the phone. 4. stylus is not very comfortable to hold. On the whole this phone is seriously not recommended in 2014.

  • samsung galaxy note gtn7000 THe REal REview
Sandeep Bhatia (May 1, 2014) on Gadgets 360
samsung galaxy note gtn7000 the original of the note series with 5.2 inches screen size has good viewing angles, so be number of applications displayed on screen,or watching videos is a great joy, after the jelly bean update the phone functions more smoothly then before.Since its an Android phone it can easily be rooted and custom roms like the Kitkat ANdroid 4.4.2 rom of Cyanogenmod rom can be easily installed with which the phone gets customization options and even the Google Now is easy to use.The camera after the update has brilliant images even in low light.Although I must admit that battery life on phone is not that good after heavy usage it just manages to last about ten hours..the storage on phone is pretty low .with few games and images and music it cant install more applications so be sure to buy memory card which can be 16 gb or 32 gb..all in all its a great businees phone with ease if use of word and excel applications so be a young phone lover or a businessman it justifies its high price value..
