Lava has launched a new tablet in its Xtron series in India, the Xtron Z704., priced at Rs. 6,499. The company notes that the tablet is targeted at college-going students and young professionals.

The Lava Xtron Z704 tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT8127) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera without flash, while there is also a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera onboard. The Xtron Z704 includes 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options on the Lava Xtron Z704 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS, and HDMI. It packs a 4000mAh battery. The tablet measures 188.4x108x10.7mm, and weighs 320 grams.

The company notes that the Xtron Z704 is the successor to the Xtron+ tablet launched last year.

Last month, Lava launched another sub-Rs. 10,000 tablet, the IvoryE, priced at Rs. 6,099.
