It has been speculated for long that Research in Motion (RIM) would be
launching a 10-inch version of its PlayBook tablet. But so far, there
has been so concrete evidence about the same being in the works.
Now
a Vietnamese website Tinhte, has posted pictures of a 10-inch
BlackBerry PlayBook and also indicated that this tablet can be a reality
very soon. This tablet looks much like the 7-inch PlayBook that is
already in the market. From the posted pictures it appears that the
10-incher BlackBerry PlayBook will come with a 26.82WHr battery and will
also have a SIM card slot probably to support 4G LTE network.
It
is noteworthy that the 4G LTE version of 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook was
expected to be available in Canadian markets soon through telecom
service operator Bell.
As far as specs for this tablet
are concerned, it will have a display resolution of 1024 x 600p and a
4800 mAh battery. Powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor, LTE Playbook
will have 1GB RAM, and runs on OS 2.0. There is a 5MP rear camera that
can shoot full 1080p HD videos and a 3MP front-facing camera as well.

The
original BlackBerry PlayBooks came in three variants of 16GB, 32GB and
64 GB but it is being speculated that the LTE version will come only in a
32GB version.
Coming back to the 10-inch tablet, it was
earlier being touted that this device may see the light of day by Q3
2012. But now, with BlackBerry pushing back the launch of its much
awaited BlackBerry 10 OS to 2013, the tablet might be pushed to a later
date.
As of now, there are no further details available
with regards to the specifications or expected pricing for the 10-inch
BlackBerry PlayBook. However, this tablet will be a crucial part of
BlackBerry's future portfolio as it attempts to make a comeback in the
smartphone and tablet market.
