It seems that Acer is looking at fortifying its presence in the low cost Android tablet market. The company is expected to launch a 7.9-inch Android tablet, which is dubbed Iconia A1.

Android Headlines via Tablet.bg has posted a preview of Acer Iconia A1-811. According to the same, Acer Iconia A1-811 will come with a 7.9-inch display with a 1024X768 resolution. The tablet is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor along with 1GB of RAM. Acer Iconia A1-811 will offer an option of either 8GB internal storage or 16GB.

For camera, there is a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and a VGA one in the front. The tablet is powered by a 3,250mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. It is priced at 169 Pounds, which translates to $220 or Rs. 14,080.

There have already been rumours regarding Acer planning to launch this iPad mini competitor in the near future and the leaked specifications had already been posted online.

Acer is already offering its Iconia B1 tablet (Review | Pictures) with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in India carrying a price tag of Rs. 7,999. This tablet was unveiled at CES 2013. It sports a 7-inch display with 1024x600 resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek processor (MTK 8317T) alongside 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It features a microSD card to expand the available storage by another 32GB. Connectivity options on the Acer Iconia B1 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro-USB. A 0.3-megapixel front camera is thrown-in for good measure.

The company is also offering a 16GB version of Acer Iconia B1 tablet in Europe, but this version is yet to make its way to India.
