Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 is just round the corner and there are
plenty of rumours regarding what we may see at this gala event. We had
reported a few days ago that Samsung might be adding an 8-inch device to
its Galaxy Note line-up at this event.
A Korean website, iNews24 is
now claiming that it is almost certain that Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will
make an appearance at the MWC 2013. The website claims to have got this
bit of information from Samsung's chief of Mobile Communications JK
Shin.
It is noteworthy, that iNews24 is the same website that had
earlier managed to get a confirmation regarding Samsung Galaxy S3 mini
from Shin. So one has reasons to be believe that they might be on target
even in regards to Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.
Apart from the
screen size, there is no new official information available regarding
the specs for this tablet. As per the previous rumours, Samsung Galaxy
Note 8.0 is expected to include 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor,
4600mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, option of 16 or 32GB as internal storage,
5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera. It is likely to
run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Other connectivity options may include
Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS.
There
are also speculations doing that rounds that Samsung may launch two
versions of Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 - Samsung GT-N5100, which will be a
3G+Wi-Fi version and the GT-N5110, which will be a Wi-Fi only version.
If
Galaxy Note 8.0 indeed comes with the above mentioned set of
specifications and is priced competitively, it may be an interesting
tablet to watch out for in 2013.
