Salman Khan joins Facebook, gets over two million likes in hours

Social networking website Facebook seems to be getting increasingly popular amongst Bollywood superstars. Soon after Amitabh Bachchan joined Facebook, Salman Khan has followed suit and launched his official Facebook page. Just like Salman's Twitter handle, the Facebook page is also named 'Being Salman Khan'. The actor of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun fame has more than 2.6 million followers on Twitter as well.

Salman Khan's page has a Timeline view along with posts right from his Bollywood debut in 1989 in Maine Pyar Kiya as Prem Chaudhary to his recent release Ek Tha Tiger. He has also posted some recent personal photographs including the one featuring his dogs.

Besides photos, Salman has also posted a welcome video on his page and shares, "A lot of people told me there are so you have so many fake Facebook pages, so when are you joining it. So here I am on this platform." Commenting on the fake accounts, he added, "All the fake pages should either just join this page or fake off."

Within just a few of hours of being live, Salman Khan's Facebook page has garnered over 2.6 million likes.

The Bollywood star also runs an NGO called Being Human and mentioned in his video address that he will be posting the first video of this NGO's clothing store shortly on his Facebook page.

Amitabh Bachchan had joined Facebook on August 21, 2012 at 9:30 AM and within just half an hour of the page going live, it had close to eight lakh likes. Ace Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also recently announced his official Facebook page and has over 7 million likes already.
