ZTE has announced that the release of the Nubia Z9 Max smartphone has been delayed in launch country China.

The smartphone was scheduled to go on sale starting Thursday in the firm's home turf; but then the company via its official Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) account announced a delay on Wednesday. ZTE also stated that interested consumers in China will have to wait till May to get their hands on the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max.

The company on its Weibo post blamed the Nubia Z9 Max's complex manufacturing process for the launch delay. ZTE's Weibo post (via GizmoChina) reads, "The device uses a double glass and aluminium body. It is processed through CNC machining and other complex processes, which requires a lot of time."
