Motorola, acquired last year by computer maker Lenovo Group, has finally decided to enter the Chinese market with its full fleet of popular smartphones namely the new Moto G LTE, new Moto X, and Moto X Pro. The popular smartphone maker was notably absent from the most populous mobile phone market since last two years. For those unaware, the Moto X Pro is a rebranded Google Nexus 6, which was launched in September last year.

The Moto X (Gen 2) will be available from early February (16GB variant starting at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 32,400), the Moto X Pro after Spring Festival aka Chinese New Year (from February 19-25) alongside the Moto G (Gen 2) LTE.

The company had earlier revealed in a blog post that buyers will also be able to "vote on what colours and materials they would like to see featured first" making China the second country after the US to offer the Moto Maker service. "After Spring Festival, people will be able to design their own Moto X through our Moto Maker design tool," confirmed the blog post.

"We're eager to build a direct relationship with Chinese consumers and empower them by bringing the mobile Internet to millions of people. With the new Moto X, new Moto X Pro and new Moto G with 4G LTE, the people of China will have the power to choose," said the company on its blog post.

After the three smartphones, Motorola may also bring its popular Bluetooth headset Moto Hint, along with its wearable Moto 360 in the region, reports The Verge.

Motorola, one of China's earliest mobile phone brands in the 1980s, left the country in 2013 following its acquisition by Google. Beijing-based Lenovo bought the Motorola mobile phone business last year to expand its presence in wireless devices.

Motorola faces intense competition in China, where Apple, Samsung and local brand Xiaomi are spending heavily to appeal to local customers.
