Ola Cabs Launches Operations in Madurai

Ola Cabs, which launched its service in Madurai on Friday, claimed that it were ensuring safety of passengers by ensuring 100 percent traceability through GPS devices which can help passengers to contact with their relatives in the locality.

N Sadhanandhan, Head of Operations, also told reporters in Madurai that all the drivers are screened and were appointed only after police verification about their conduct.

Ola, which had 60,000 cabs across 50 cities in the country, would focus in the next one year on nurturing micro-enterpreneurship, he said.

He said the company had tied up with car manufacturers like Tata, Ford, Mahindra, Maruti and Nissan to help drivers buy cars from them at discounts up to Rs. 1 lakh. Besides they had also tied up with financial institutions to ensure drivers were able to procure loans for buying their own cars easily.

The mobile application would show the availability of cabs in nearby location to the customer. On booking, customers get confirmation along with booking details like and driver's name, he said.
