Telecom operator Tata Teleservices, which operates under Tata Docomo brand, on Wednesday announced the launch of 'Unlimited WhatsApp' offerings for new postpaid customers in Mumbai.

Tata Docomo announced 8 plans starting in the range of Rs. 199 to Rs. 1,099 under which user will get talk time more than the value of their rental, SMS and some amount of free mobile Internet usage, besides free unlimited Internet usage for WhatsApp.

Customers will be charged STD call rates at the rate of 1.3 paise per 2 seconds, the company said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Tata Docomo tied up with YouTube to enable the telecom services firm's 3G prepaid users watch online videos for as low as Rs. 9.

YouTube, Apalya Technologies and Tata Docomo will offer the video data plan 'YouTube Recharge', which will offer users about 50 percent discount from regular data charges to watch online videos.

Users can watch 100MB worth of videos for Rs. 9 (valid for 24 hours) on YouTube and Apalya's Live TV streaming service, while they can have access to 150MB (valid for 3 days) for Rs. 19.

Under the Rs. 39-plan, users will get 300MB data, which will be valid for seven days. With 100MB data, viewers can watch about 20-30 minutes of video at 240p quality.

"Users have a lot of inhibition watching videos on mobile phones because they often think it is expensive. India has a large prepaid market and we want to take data consumption to the masses," Tata Docomo Head (Data and Mobile VAS) Anand Agrawal said.
