The Chinese smartphone and PC maker has announced it will be joining HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sony and ZTE at Mobile World Congress 2014, and may just reveal some new smartphones at the event.

Lenovo's Gavin O'Hara, on 21 February, confirmed that the Chinese smartphone and PC maker will be making its presence felt at MWC, scheduled from 24 February to 27 February 2014.

"As Team Lenovo arrives for this week's Mobile World Congress, we do so riding a huge wave of growth and success in the mobile tech market," stated the official blog post.

The blog post started by mentioning the firm's expansion over the years from PC's to smartphones, and that too from a single market (China) to a total number of 26 markets all around the globe.

The blog adds that Lenovo's event at the MWC 2014 Barcelona "will be its largest ever." Furthermore, O'Hara details the firm's stand, which will be divided between the public showcase area and a private hospitality area.

"Our home for the week is a 785-square-meter space in Barcelona's Fira Gran Via. Our hybrid stand will be divided into 25% public showcase area and 75% private hospitality area where our staff will host customer meetings and do media interviews," states O'Hara. "In addition, we will have a theatre area in the stand for live product demos, audience interaction and entertaining."

Lenovo says its theme for this year's MWC 2014 event is "Creating What's Next," and it will be also showcasing its "innovative products to a large, astute audience," hinting the arrival of some new products under the smartphone or PC segment.

The Lenovo blog additionally teased the announcement of some new products in the end by stating, "Stay with us all week for news and (just maybe) a couple of new product reveals."
