Sony kicked off its CES 2014 campaign with the launch of the Xperia Z1 Compact, which is a mini-variant of the company's flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1.

However, the Japanese handset maker did not reveal the pricing of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact at the event. Now thanks to the pre-order listing of the Xperia Z1 Compact in different parts of Europe, the pricing for the device has been revealed.

Xperia Blog noted prices from Sony official online stores in Europe, along with promotional offers that the company is offering with the Xperia Z1 Compact, although no word on the availability of the device.

According to the site, the UK pricing (pictured below) of the Xperia Z1 Compact is 449 British Pounds, which translates to roughly Rs. 45,500, while the smartphone is priced at 549 euros (roughly Rs. 46,200) in France, Netherlands and Spain, and 499 euros (roughly Rs. 42,000) in Germany and Italy.

European pricing is generally higher than US pricing, and we can expect the Xperia Z1 Compact to cost a little less than the directly converted euro pricing when the smartphone arrives in India. Seeing as the Xperia Z1 flagship is currently available in India for less than Rs. 40,000 (MOP), we can reasonably expect the Xperia Z1 Compact to be priced at less than Rs. 35,000.

Sony is offering the SmartWatch 2 (free in certain markets) and a Sony Wireless Headset DR-BTN200M (in certain markets, at an additional price) with every pre-order of the Xperia Z1 Compact.

For those unaware, the mini-variant of Xperia Z1 dubbed Xperia Z1 Compact, features identical specifications to the Sony Xperia Z1 f introduced under Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo's winter smartphone line-up in October, 2013.

The Xperia Z1 Compact runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and is manufactured by a single aluminium frame with tempered glass on the back and front panels. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974 processor along with 2GB of RAM, much like the elder sibling, Xperia Z1.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact features a 4.3-inch Triluminos HD (720x1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card.

The highlight of the Xperia Z1 Compact is again the 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor alongside BIONZ image processor engine and pulsed LED flash, as seen in Xperia Z1. It also includes a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC. The Xperia Z1 Compact packs a 2300mAh battery with STAMINA mode and is waterproof and dust-proof smartphone, like other high-end Xperia smartphones.
